This means that a Diversional and Recreational Therapist (DRT) meet the National Standards to practice Diversional and Recreational Therapy in Aoteroa.

It also means hat the DRT is competent, skilled, and is up to date with relevant knowledge and training in our industry.

  • A Registered DRT delivers quality Diversional and Recreational services for the people in their care in the safest possible way.
  • A Registered DRT holds a National Credential / License that is recognised and approved by the National professional DRT body to practice.
  • A Registered DRT is also recognised in those countries in which NZSDRT Inc. has a Memorandum of Understanding such as Japan, Australia, USA, UK.
  • A Registered DRT is accountable to the industry, to our profession, and most importantly to our clients
  • Only DRTs with a National credential / license are allowed to call themselves Registered DRTs
